ACADEMICS

We have been investing in future generations since our founding in 1923 by the Servite Order, Sisters of Mary.

The Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Denver mandates the curriculum of Assumption School. The Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools give parents confidence that their investment in a Catholic school education will support their child’s complete development and personal success. A rigorous, time-tested curriculum taught by committed faculty in a faith-based and nurturing environment results in measurably accomplished academic achievement.

Catholic teachings, faith, and traditions, are integral to a curriculum that reinforces what is taught at home, including virtues of discipline, respect, and responsibility which will provide guidance and inspiration as your child navigates life’s challenges.

Our curriculum is under constant study and revision as we become aware of new trends and teaching tools. Textbooks are to be considered tools to aid in the teaching of the curriculum. Additional tools include supplementary and reference books, I-Pad resources, Mimio/Smart Board technology, audio-visual aids, field trips, and additional technology resources.

All students receive Art, Music, PE, and Spanish along with their regular academic curriculum.

Preschool Course of Instruction

Assumption Catholic Preschool, Pre-K teachers are dedicated to educating young children–socially, physically, emotionally and intellectually–from the ages of 3 to 5 years old. Early education is crucial for later learning, so we’ve designed our school environment to be a place for students to learn, explore, play and connect through mutual trust and respect.

The basic program in preschool includes the following: religion, language, mathematics, personal-social development, social studies, media-art, music, science, and sensory-motor development.

Elementary School Course of Instruction

The basic program in kindergarten through grade three includes religion, language arts, mathematics, music, art, and physical education. Concepts of social studies, science, health, and safety are incorporated into the instructional program.

The basic program in grades four through eight include religion, mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, fine arts, physical education, health, and safety. Use of technology is integrated into the instructional program.
