At Assumption School, we strive to instill four core characteristics in students:
Catholic Faith Formation
Participation in community service projects is encouraged, where students work with the Knights of Columbus. They learn giving and sharing to be a life long value to nurture. Daily prayer in classes and as a school community reinforces the love and sharing responsibility we have to each other as Catholics. The Catholic faith is formed throughout the school experience, but beautifully through the catechism preparation for the Sacrament of First Communion in second grade. Assumption seeks to develop compassionate, lifelong Catholics with a strong faith foundation in a diverse, student-centered Catholic community.
Students at Assumption are recognized as individuals within a family environment. We strongly encourage parental involvement throughout all facets of the student experiences. We promote mentoring academic cooperation throughout the school with a weekly reading buddies program. And a bonding opportunity in our faith formation in our weekly Mass buddy system. It is a beautiful extension of our community faith family for both the younger children and establishing a responsibility for our faith in our older students.
There is a comprehensive sportsprogram at Assumption as well as a plethora of after school clubs and activities for students. Participation in Liturgical Ministries, such as Altar Server Program is encouraged. And to integrate the students into the community, a Children’s Mass is scheduled every 4th Sunday of the month at the 9:00 am Mass.
We strive to provide small classes with one on one instruction. In fact, enrollment capacity allows for 20 students in each class. Most classes average 15 to 18 students, so students receive individual attention, promoting an intimate learning environment. All teachers are state licensed and require religious certification through the Archdiocese of Denver which promotes excellent standardized test scores. Field trips are also an integral part of our curriculum, providing students with a multitude of experiences and exposure to opportunities in which they may not have otherwise been able to participate. 97% of Catholic School graduates go on to college. Investing in a Catholic education has long-lasting benefits!
